Un análisis del contenido de las redes sociales desafío deportivo

Resumen

Esta investigación indaga en las prácticas deportivas desde la perspectiva de género en las plataformas digitales. Al estar implicadas en la construcción de la corporalidad, las actividades deportivas tienden a reproducir valores socialmente dominantes sobre lo que significa ser mujer u hombre (Bifulco y Tuselli, 2017). En consecuencia, la noción de que existen “deportes femeninos” y “deportes masculinos” está muy extendida (Channon, 2012, 2013; Channon y Jennings, 2014; Ferrero Camoletto y Topini, 2020; Matthews, 2011; Spencer, 2012). En concreto, este estudio se centra en las prácticas deportivas dentro del nuevo fenómeno de los retos en las redes sociales. Estas prácticas están fuertemente correlacionadas con conceptos como la competición y el rendimiento, donde también se pone en juego el género. El objetivo es explorar en qué medida estos retos deportivos refuerzan las ideas predominantes sobre la feminidad y la masculinidad y en qué casos las desafían. Los resultados de un análisis de contenido visual de 163 videos, compartidos en Facebook, Instagram, YouTube y TikTok a lo largo de un año, muestran que estos nuevos desafíos tienden a perpetuar y promover las diferencias de género tradicionales observadas en las prácticas deportivas, en lugar de cuestionarlas.
